Flaming June in December

| Sofia Adawy

We love that Vogue's December 2013 cover is inspired by one of our favorite paintings, Flaming June by Sir Frederic Leighton.

Beloved fashion editor Grace Coddington dreamt up this and several other gorgeous pieces, all inspired by classic portraits. Of course, the inimitable Annie Leibovitz was the photographer who managed to capture these modern day interpretations of the works of Félix Vallotton, Anders Zorn, Gustav Klimt, Vincent Van Gogh, Julia Margaret Cameron, and René Magritte. Catch a glimpse here.
